In The Event of An Accident
If you’ve ever been involved in an auto accident — maybe even a fender-bender — you know how hard it is to remember all of the information you’re supposed to get from the other driver, especially if you’re a little shaken up.We recommend you take the following actions:
- Move out of the way of traffic and turn on your hazard warning lights.
- Notify the police immediately, even in a minor accident. If someone is injured, request medical assistance.
- Don't discuss the accident with anyone other than the police or a Citizens andHanover representative.
- Exchange necessary information with the other driver(s). Be sure to write down the other driver's name, address, phone number, license plate number and insurance information. Also write down the contact information of all witnesses, including names and phone numbers .
- Report your claim to us immediately by calling 800-628-0250. We'll advise your Agent of your call.
- Print out a copy of In Case of Accident Guide. Keep it in your glove compartment because it could come in handy. All you have to do is fill in the information you need to complete your accident report and file your insurance claim.
